REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
December 9, 2009
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Bradford Jacobsen at 6:20 p.m. in the
Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Capello, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin,
Jacobsen, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Runestad, Scott, Taub. (13)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0)
Quorum present.
The following people addressed the Caucus during public comment: Deputy County Executive Gerald
Poisson and Commissioner Jeff Potter.
Moved by Middleton supported by Gosselin the minutes of the November 12, 2009 Republican Caucus
be approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Moved by Long supported by Bullard to take a Caucus position regarding General Government
Committee, Item f. and not allowing the vote to be separated.
Vote on Caucus position:
AYES: Bullard, Capello, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin, Jacobsen, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts,
Runestad, Scott, Taub. (13)
NAYS: None. (0)
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the motion to take a Caucus position on General Government
Committee, Item f. passed.
Commissioner Michael Gingell introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners –
Support for Senate Bill 977 – Local Jurisdiction of Speed Limits on Gravel Roads.
Democratic Commissioner Dave Woodward introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of
Commissioners – Authorization of the Operation of the Oakland County Flea Market.
Democratic Commissioner Eric Coleman introduced two proposed resolutions entitled Board of
Commissioners – Oakland County Citizen Academy Study Group and Board of Commissioners – SMART
Transportation.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 6:54 p.m. until January 20, 2010, at 6:00 p.m.
