REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
May 5, 2010
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Bradford Jacobsen at 6:13 p.m. in the
Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Capello, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin,
Jacobsen, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Runestad, Scott, Taub. (13)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0)
Quorum present.
Moved by Taub supported by Douglas the minutes of the April 22, 2010 Republican Caucus be approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
No one addressed the Caucus during public comment.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Democratic Commissioner Schwartz introduced three proposed resolutions entitled Board of
Commissioners – Tri-Party road Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation – City of
Farmington – Low Level Signal Installation; Board of Commissioners – Tri-Party Road Improvement
Program Fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation – City of Farmington – Pedestrian Crossing; and Board of
Commissioners – Tri-Party Road Improvement program fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation City of Farmington
– Scats Signal Upgrade.
Democratic Commissioner Burns introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Tri-
Party Road Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation – City of Troy
Commissioner Taub Introduced three proposed resolutions entitled Board of Commissioners – Declaring
May 2010 – Mental Health Month in Oakland County; Board of Commissioners – Tri-Party Road
Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation Charter Township of Bloomfield; and Board of
Commissioners – Equitable Funding
Democratic Commissioner Zack introduced two proposed resolutions entitled Board of Commissioners –
Establishing Drug Court Month in Oakland County; Board of Commissioners – Tri-Party Road
Improvement Program fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation City of Huntington Woods.
Commissioner Zack distributed copies of Oakland County Preparing for the “SILVER TSUNAMI” A Wave
of Opportunity, A Report of the Oakland County Senior Planning Coalition March 2010 to the Republican
Caucus Copy on file in County Clerks office.
Commissioner Bullard introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Tri-Party
Road Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2010 Appropriation Village of Holly

Democratic Commissioner Nash gave notice that he will move to discharge MR #10086 entitled Board of
Commissioners – Recognizing Historic Preservation Month from the General Government Committee for
immediate consideration at the regular Board meeting.
Democratic Commissioner Griemel introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners –
Resolution and Ordinance Banning the Sale, Display for Sale, and Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids
in Oakland County.
Commissioner Potter introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Cost Recovery
for State Police Services Provided to Local Communites.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 6:45 p.m. until May 20, 2010, at 8:30 a.m.
