Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (14) ABSENT: Potts. (1) Quorum present. No one addressed the Caucus during public comment. Moved by Scott supported by Middleton the minutes of the February 17, 2011 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Board to introduce nominee for Administrative Director, Program Evaluation and Operations Analysis James VerPloeg. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the suspension list for the following items: Miscellaneous Resolution #11040 entitled Information Technology Department – Position Deletions; a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Department of Planning and Economic Development – Tiger II Grant Acceptance; and a proposed Report entitled Board of Commissioners – Appointment of Administrative Director – Program Evaluation and Operations Analysis. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to inform them of the Human Resources Committee meeting that would follow immediately after the Caucus, prior to the Board meeting to discuss Miscellaneous Resolution #11040 entitled Information Technology Department – Position Deletions. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Department of Planning and Economic Development – Tiger II Grant Acceptance, she also introduced the Supervisor of Planning and Economic Development Bret Rasegan. Bret Rasegan, Supervisor of Planning and Economic Development addressed the Caucus to give a presentation on the Tiger II Grant. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Report entitled Board of Commissioners – Appointment of Administrative Director – Program Evaluation and Operations Analysis. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. March 9, 2011 112 Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Tri-Party Road Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2011 Appropriation – Charter Township of Waterford – Project No. 50771. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus regarding a breakfast fund raiser for the Republican Party. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to remind them of the upcoming jail tour on March 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the additional Caucus meeting at 6:00 p.m. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus, specifically Commissioner Weipert regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Department of Central Services – Support Services Division Reorganization. Discussion followed with comment by Director of Management and Budget Laurie Van Pelt. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus, specifically Commissioner Weipert regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Department of Facilities Management – Approval and Acceptance of Lease Agreement with the Rademacher Group One, LLC for Use of Property at 5850 Lorac Dr., Clarkston, Michigan. Discussion followed with comment by Deputy County Executive Phil Bertolini. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding two proposed Miscellaneous Resolutions entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for the International Academy; and Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Recognizing National County Government Month in Oakland County – April 2011. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus to update them on the Youth in Government Day that will take place on April 12, 2011. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a ‘Film Credit’ the Democratic Commissioners are considering to introduce as a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution. Discussion followed with comment by Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson. Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus to announce that her family is the recipient of the ‘Barn of the Year’, awarded by Michigan Barn Preservation Network. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to inform them of the following two presentations that will be given at the Board Meeting by: Commissioner Hatchett regarding the National Associations of Counties (NACO) conference; and Deputy County Executive, Bob Daddow regarding the status of the County budget. Caucus Chairperson, Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to inform them of two proclamations that will be presented at the Board Meeting: one for the West Bloomfield Public Library; and Oxford High School Wrestling Team.
