Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Potts, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (15) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: (0) Quorum present. Moved by Gosselin supported by Runestad the minutes of the August 3, 2011 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Public Affairs Associate, Jim Ryan. Public Affairs Associate, Jim Ryan addressed the Caucus. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Undersheriff McCabe. Undersheriff McCabe addressed the Caucus to give an update on the Sheriff’s Department transition over the City of Pontiac Police Department. Discussion followed. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding General Government on the Consent Agenda, item c.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11161 entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for H.R. 1758 – Legislation Regulating for Profit Universities. Discussion followed. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus stating that the Finance Committee has no items to report on the Regular Agenda. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. August 18, 2011 411 Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus regarding General Government on the Regular Agenda, items f.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11180 entitled Department of Health and Human Services – Homeland Security Division – Outdoor Warning System Expansion – the City of Rochester; and g.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11181 entitled Department of Health and Human Services/Health Division – Digital Upgrade of X-Ray Equipment, both items will be referred to the Finance Committee. She also stated that there should be no problems with item h.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11174 entitled Board of Commissioners – 2011-2012 Professional Services Contract with Poling, McGaw and Poling, P.C. Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus regarding General Government on the Regular Agenda, items i.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11158 entitled Board of Commissioners – Resolution in Support of SB 569 to Maintain Film Tax Credits, and j.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11159 entitled Board of Commissioners – Complete Streets Resolution: Modeled After Grand Haven City Council Resolutions. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus to remind Committee Members to notify the appropriate County Departments regarding Resolutions associated with those Departments. Discussion followed. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus stating that the Human Resources Committee has no items to report on the Regular Agenda. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus regarding Planning and Building on the Regular Agenda, item b.: Miscellaneous Resolution #11182 entitled Facilities Management/Children’s Village – Children’s Village Athletic Track Repaving Project will be referred to the General Government Committee and the Finance Committee. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that the Public Services items on the Regular Agenda will be referred. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the department memo, and stated that the Public Services Committee meeting will be at a new time on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.; she also stated that there will be no entry permitted on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, through the West parking lot entrance; and the Tri-County summit is scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2011. Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that the General Government Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, August 22, 2011, was cancelled. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus and stated that Democratic Commissioner Marcia Gershenson will be presenting a former Proclamation at the Board Meeting to acknowledge the anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus regarding the attendance of the Commissioners at the Committee meetings. Discussion followed.
