Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gosselin, Hoffman, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (12) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Gingell. (1) ABSENT: Long, Potts. (2) DEMOCRATIC COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Zack. (1) Quorum present. Moved by Crawford supported by Dwyer the minutes of the June 8, 2011 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. No one addressed the Caucus during public comment. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Prescription Drug Program to discuss switching from the current provider Caremark to the Coast to Coast program. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to suggest holding further discussion on the Prescription Drug Program until Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Caucus meeting, at which time Commissioner Runestad will introduce a proposed resolution on the matter. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to circulate copies of the Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting agenda to discuss. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus stating that the General Government Committee has no items of concerns on the agenda. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding General Government item g. on the Regular Agenda entitled Board of Commissioners – Appointments to the Board of County Canvassers; she also reminded them that if any Commissioners know possible candidates for these appointments they should urge them to apply. Discussion followed. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus stating that the Human Resources Committee will be having a short meeting on Thursday, September 22, 2011, prior to the Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. September 20, 2011 473 Commissioner Weipert addressed the Caucus stating that the Planning and Building Committee has no items of concerns on the agenda. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus stating that the Public Services Committee has no items of concerns on the agenda. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a Reception honoring Commissioners John Scott and Mattie Hatchett on Thursday, September 22, 2011, prior to the Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Resolution in Support of Regional Transit Authority and to introduce Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson. Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Resolution in Support of Regional Transit Authority that Commissioner Gingell will be introducing at the Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting on September 22, 2011. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Resolution in Support of Regional Transit Authority, and stated Commissioner Dwyer will move to suspend the rules and ask for immediate action at the Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution that Democratic Commissioner Jim Nash will be introducing at the Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting on September 22, 2011, entitled Board of Commissioners – Creation of the Veterans’ Services Advisory Council for Oakland County. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gosselin addressed the Caucus regarding Miscellaneous Resolution #11203 entitled Board of Commissioners – Supporting Employee Freedom to Work Act. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding Board of Commissioners Appointments for January – December, 2012. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus regarding the budget meetings and stated that the Democrats will take issue with the following items: Land Banks, Animal Control, Tri-Party funding, Veterans’ Administration Counselors, EBT at Farmers’ Market and Dental Program funding. Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson addressed the Caucus stating that the Executive Office Administration will not support any amendments that were not sent through the proper procedure. Discussion followed. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding the Dental program. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Director of Health and Human Services, George Miller. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. September 20, 2011 474 Director of Health and Human Services, George Miller addressed the Caucus regarding the Dental program stating that he asked the Administration to carry over the unused allocated funds for the Dental program to the next Fiscal Year. He also stated that he is anticipating expanding the Dental program to include maintenance and procedures, not just emergency dental services. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus regarding Oakland County piloting a Land Bank program. Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson addressed the Caucus regarding Land Banks. He stated that any decision on the creation of a Land Bank for the County is based upon individual approvals from the County Treasurer, Andy Meisner and the County Executive, L. Brooks Paterson; and at this time the County Executive, L. Brooks Patterson is opposed to the creation of a Land Bank. Discussion followed. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus regarding Tri-Party funds. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Deputy County Executive, Robert Daddow. Deputy County Executive, Robert Daddow addressed the Caucus to state that the Tri-Party Program is currently fully funded. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus stating that Democratic Commissioner Tim Greimel indicated that there may be more amendments to come. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus, suggesting to have assigned Commissioners speak to each of the amendments. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the ROCC PAC event, October 11, 2011. Discussion followed. Commissioner Bosnic addressed the Caucus announcing that he will re-run for his County Commissioner seat. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus regarding the contract with Oak Management. Discussion followed. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding the Oak 65 resource fair. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to commend Commissioner Kathy Crawford on her efforts.
