Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Gingell, Hoffman, Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (9) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Crawford. (1) ABSENT: Dwyer, Gosselin, Long, Nuccio, Potts. (5) DEMOCRATIC COMMISSIONER PRESENT: Woodward. (1) Quorum present. Moved by Weipert supported by Hoffman the minutes of the May 12, 2011 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Oakland County Republic Party Chair, Jim Thienel addressed the Caucus during public comment. Director of Central Services, J. David Vanderveen addressed the Caucus regarding the 2011 Oakland County International Airport Grant during public comment. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Reagan Program. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus regarding the Parks and Recreation tour. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub reminded the Caucus that the next Caucus meeting will be Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 9:00 a.m., in Committee Room B. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus to introduce Ed Rahn and Ken Mayfield from the Coast2Coast Discount Prescription Card Program (via conference call). Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Board Agenda; He stated that the Proclamation for Great Lake Agricultural Fair and the Proclamation for Bailey Lake Elementary School are going to be taken off the Agenda and a Proclamation for Chuck Palmer will be added. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus regarding an issue with contracts being awarded to people who have family members working for the County and suggested that relationships need to be disclosed in the application process, regardless of whether they are directly or indirectly a party to the contract. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus stating that the Planning and Building committee has no items for the Regular Agenda, but will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Oakland County International Airport – 2011 Grant Program Acceptance – Reconstruction of Terminal Parking Lot (Phase 2) that he will ask for immediate consideration on. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the General Government Appointments on the Regular Agenda. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus stating that the Human Resources Committee has no concerns regarding their Regular Agenda Item. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated there were no items to report for the Planning and Building Committee on the Regular Agenda. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus stating that the Public Services Committee has no concerns regarding their Regular Agenda items. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding Miscellaneous Resolution #11065 entitled Board of Commissioners – Resolution in Support of Michigan’s Film and Television Tax Credits & In Support of Extending Credits to the Production of Television Advertisements. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to remind them of the Caucus Bar-B-Que on July 16, 2011, hosted by Commissioner Scott. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to extend congratulations to Commissioner Michael Gingell for being appointed to the Business Roundtable by Secretary of State, Ruth Johnson. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus announcing that there will not be any more County tours until the fall; she also stated that she will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for Senate Bill 248 to Limit the Amount of State-Owned Land.
