Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Potts, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (15) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: (0) Quorum present. Moved by Runestad supported by Matis the minutes of the November 30, 2011 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. No one addressed the Caucus during public comment. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Runestad. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that he will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Sheriff’s Office – Standard Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Orion, January 1, 2012-December 31, 2012 and will request suspension of the Board Rules for immediate consideration. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Democratic Commissioner Marcia Gershenson. Democratic Commissioner Marcia Gershenson addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Notice of Termination for Board of Commissioners’ Lobbyist Contract that she will introduce and stated that she will request suspension of the Board Rules for immediate consideration. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Democratic Commissioner Craig Covey. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. December 15, 2011 675 Democratic Commissioner Craig Covey addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Opposition to House Bill 5187 Redistricting Legislation that he will introduce and stated that he will request suspension of the Board Rules for immediate consideration. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Middleton. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus regarding the suspension list for item f.: entitled Department of Information Technology – Position Changes, that is on the Consent Agenda and being requested to be moved to the Regular Agenda for referral to the Human Resources Committee. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Long. Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that she has a Report to introduce on the Regular Agenda entitled Board of Commissioners – 2012 Standing Committees Assignments. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Scott. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that there were no items to report for the Human Resources Committee. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Potts. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no issues with the items on the Regular Agenda. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated that she and Democratic Commissioner Helaine Zack are sponsoring a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Designation of Woodward Ave. in Oakland County as an “Orange Route” Instead of a “Blue Route” for Winter Maintenance as Designated by the MDOT and will be referring it to the General Government Committee. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Matis. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus regarding the motion from Democratic Commissioner Jim Nash to possibly Discharge Miscellaneous Resolution #11230 entitled Board of Commissioners – Urging Michigan Legislature to Oppose Eliminating Michigan’s Automobile No-Fault Insurance System from the General Government Committee and stated that it should be placed under Special Order of Business. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Gingell. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding public comment during the Board meeting. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Hoffman. Commissioner Hoffman addressed the Caucus regarding the on-going Litigation of the Re-Districting Lawsuit. Commissioner Bosnic addressed the Caucus regarding the Fracking Law. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Commissioner Gosselin. Commissioner Gosselin addressed the Caucus and stated that he wanted to inform them of some negative information that may arise due to a personal court case that he is currently involved with, that it is to be expected and to please disregard. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce John and Pauline Holeton. John and Pauline Holeton addressed the Caucus to give a presentation on Smart meters. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Nicholas Kennedy. Nicholas Kennedy addressed the Caucus and stated that he’s a candidate running for 39th District State Representative.
