Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Potts, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (14) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Hoffman. (1) Quorum present. Moved by Long supported by Runestad the minutes of the November 29, 2011 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Jim VerPloeg, Administrative - Director Program and Operations Analyst. Jim VerPloeg, Administrative – Director Program and Operations Analyst addressed the Caucus during public comment to thank the Board of Commissioners for the Holiday gift that was given to him and his staff, he also wanted to circulate the thank you card that him and the staff got for them. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Oakland County Republican Party Chairman, Jim Thienel. Oakland County Republican Party Chairman, Jim Thienel addressed the Caucus during public comment regarding “Lincoln Day”. Discussion followed. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that he has no concerns with the Finance Committee item on the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that she has no concerns with the General Government items on the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that he has no concerns with the Public Services Committee items on the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that he has no items to report on the Regular Agenda. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. January 17, 2012 2 Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that she has no concerns with the General Government Committee item c.: on the Regular Agenda entitled Miscellaneous Resolution #11302 – Board of Commissioners – Authorize Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds to Provide Veteran Photo ID Cards; and item d.: entitled County Clerk/Register of Deeds – Elections Division – Agreement to Utilize the Services of the Oakland County Board of Canvassers by the City of Farmington. She also stated that she will be referring both items to the Finance Committee. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee item a.: on the Regular Agenda entitled Miscellaneous Resolution #11314 – Department of Facilities Management – Request for Approval of Fourth Lease Amendment with Oakland County Credit Union, Building 51 West will have some concerns. Discussion followed. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that he has no concerns with the Planning and Building Committee item b.: on the Regular Agenda entitled Central Services/Support Services/Leased Vehicle Operations Unit – Create Automobile Mechanic I Position and will refer it to the Human Resources Committee and the Finance Committee. He also stated that item c.: on the Regular Agenda entitled Facilities Management/Planning & Economic Development Services – OakGreen Program Acceptance and Disbursement of Donations will be referred to the Finance Committee. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that he has no concerns with the Public Service Committee item c.: on the Regular Agenda entitled Circuit Court – Acceptance and Authorization to Expend Donations from the Restore Foundation to Help Operate the Juvenile Drug Court (JDC) in FY 2012 and Creation of Youth and Family Caseworker I Position and will refer it to the Human Resources Committee and the Finance Committee. There were no items to report for Old Business. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub declared a brief recess. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub called the Caucus back to order. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding Apportionment/Re-Districting. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to announce the 2011 Annual Campaign Statements deadline, and distributed a handout to each Commissioner that was provided by the Oakland County Elections Division. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to distribute a 2012 Schedule to each Commissioner for the Additional Caucus meetings. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus regarding a special announcement that he plans to convey on January 24th at 5:00 pm. Commissioner Gosselin addressed the Caucus regarding the Right-to-Work Law and distributed a Newsletter to each Commissioner.
