Meeting called to order by Chairman Delos Hamlin. Roll Called: Allerton, Alward, Bender, Calhoun, Carey, Cheyz, Christensen, Clack, Clark, Clawson, Cummings, Dickens, Dohany, J. W. Duncan, R. Duncan, Elliott, Ewart, Fouts, Goodspeed, Hall, Hamlin, Heacock, Hildebrandt, Hill, Hoard, Horkey, Horton, Huber, Hudson, Hulet, Hursfall, Kelley, Kiser, Knowles, Lahti, Levinson, Lewis, Lilly, MacDonald, McCartney, McGovern, McPherson, Clarence Miller, Cyril Miller, Mitchell, 0/Donoghue, Oldenburg, 011ar, Quinlan, Ransom, Remer, Rhinevault, Romer, Schock, F. Smith, Soiley, Staman, Stevens, Taylor, Thatcher, Tiley, Tinsman, Vail, Webber, Yockey. (65) Quorum Present The Chairman announced that the Board would meet as a Commitee of the Whole. Misc. 3531 Recommended by the Board of Public Works IN RE: M.S.U. OAKLAND SANITARY SYSTEM Submitted by Mr. Thatcher Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Supervisors did, by the adoption. of Miscellaneous Resolution No. 3323 on December 23, 1957, authorize the Department of Public Works, through the Board of Public Works, to proceed with the development of plans for sewers and sewage treatment facilities for that portion of the Clinton River Drainage Basin lying within Oakland County, and WHEREAS the Department of Public Works has completed construction plans for sewers and temporary treatment facilities to serve Michigan State University-Oakland and adjacent areas, which is a part of the Clinton River Basin, and WHEREAS the Board of Public Works is desirous of proceeding with the construction of this portion of the system so that said facilities will be available to the University properties by September 1, 1959, and WHEREAS the Board of Public Works proposes to construct said facilities under contracts providing for private financing NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Supervisors, meeting as a Committee of the Whole, does hereby recommend that the Board of Supervisors, at their next meeting, establish the M.S.U. Oakland Sanitary System as a county system under the Board of Public Works as provided for in Act No. 185 of the Michigan Public Acts of 1957, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Public Works be authorized to take all necessary steps to construct, acquire, operate and maintain said M.S.U. Oakland Sanitary System to serve all or parts of Sections 6-7-8-16-17-18-19-20-21 and 22 of Avon Township, Oakland County, Michigan and all or parts of Sections 11-12- 13 and 14 of Pontiac Township, Oakland County, Michigan.
