WHEREAS the list of properties released for sale by the Heard on recommendation of the Welfare
Committee at the last meeting included the fnliowing real estate, to-wit:
Lot 132 Stephenson-karben R.O. l Subdivision, also known as 438 Kensington, Pleasant
Ridge, Michigan
and
WHEREAS your Bui!dsngs and Grounds Committee inspected this property on a tour of Counts-owned
properties on October 8, and
WHEREAS ar n hn been i'n,eived from the City of Pleasant Ridge to purchase this property
for $3,500.00 cash, w! .,h i .n 0“ii the appraised value thereof as set by the Equalization staff,
and
WHEREAS this of,er, made by resolution of the City Commission of Pleasant Ridge dated October
1, 1962, is accompanied by a good faith deposit.

1. That the offer of the City of Pleasant Ridge to purchase the above described real estate
be accepted in accordance with the terms thereof.
2. That the Chairman and Clerk of the Board be authorized to execute a deed conveying the
title to the City of Pleasant Ridge, the form of such deed to be approved by the Corporation Counsel,
and delivered upon payment of the purchase price.

WHEREAS the ELsE.nrium authorized by Hoard Resolution No. 3581 is presently under construction
at the County Servic- C: ':r' and will he ready for occupancy in 1963, and
WHEREAS three ccmilmittees of the Board, namely, Ways and Means, Buildings and Grounds and Special
County Building Cominittevs, at a o u t session. on September 17, 1962, adopted a resolution recommending
that the Auditorium be named and known hereafter as "County Center Auditorium".
THEREFORE, Mr. Chairman., on behalf of the three Committees, 1 offer the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that this Board does hereby name and designate the Auditorium at the Service
Center to be known as "County Center Auditorium".

available it will be posibl to proceed with a $516,000 total program. This was recommended
by resolution. of the Ways and Means Committee adopted on October 12, 1902. Details of the
projects to be included in this program were considered by the Buildings and Grounds Committee
and the Board of Auditors on October 10, 1962. This application is ready for consideration
by the Board and resolutions to implement this part of the County's application to the Housing
and Home Finance Agency will be prc-tnted to the Board today. This application will include
storm and sanitary sewers and steam and water lines at the County Service Center. It is
• recommended that these projects be given first priority, It is furtner recommended that second
priority be given to the application for installation of parking . lots at the Service Center, at
an estimated cost of $58,000.00.
(e) Civic Auditorium
In accordance with Resolution No. 4027 adopted by the Board at the last meeting, a notice
of intent to file for this project has been forwarded to the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
Further action on this application is to be left to the group of interested citizens.
Immediately following the consideration of this report by the Board, the Ways and Means
Committee will present twe resolutions as follows:
1. Authorize filing of formal application for storm and sanitary sewers and steam and
water _Lines at County Service Center - estimated cost $510,000.00; County's share $25$,000.00,
2. Installation of parking lots at Service Center - estimated cost. $$5,000,00; County's
share $44,000.00.
it is recommended that Item. 1 he given first priority - and Item 2 second priority in the
application.
It is further recommended that the other pending projects be continued to be studied by the
joint Committees and further reports made to the Board at a later meeting.
Mr. Chairman, on behalf of the Ways and Moans Committee, 1 move that the foregoing report be

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION WITH THE HOUSING AND HOME FINANCE AGENCY, UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA, FOR A GRANT UNDER THE TERMS OF PUBLIC LAW 345, 84TH CONGRESS, AS AMENDED, BY THE PUBLIC
WORKS ACCELERATION ACT

WHEREAS under the terms of Public Law 345, as amended, the United States of America has
authorized the making of grants to public bodies to aid in financing the construction of specific
public projects;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
I. That Delos Hamlin, Chairman of said Board of Supervisors, be and he is hereby authorized
to execute and file an application on behalf of the COUNTY OF OAKLAND, a Michigan Constitutional
Corporation, with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, United States Government, for a grant to aid in
financing the construction • of "Parking Lots" at the County Service Center, 1200 North Telegraph Road,
Pontiac, Michigan;
2. That John C. Austin, Chairman of the Oakland County Board of Auditors, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to furnish such information as the Housing and Home Finance Agency may reasonably
request in connection with the application which is herein authorized to be filed.
