Quorum Present
Mr. Hamlin discussed the program which is being conducted by the Special County Building
Committee, prior to the August 2, 1960 Special Election, to acquaint the people with the needs of the
County and the plan to establish a central Service Center.
Mr. cGovern, a member of the Special County Building Committee, explained the plan of informing
the people of the county about the Special Election.
The following suggestions were offered:
1. That a letter be mailed to all supervisors stating the cost for four years and the cost
if the election does not carry.
2. To have each of the governing bodies of the township and cities consider resolutions
endorsing the plan of the Board, and request the local assessors to figure the cost
to each unit of government.
3. That the term "54 per $1000 of assessed valuation as equalized" be used instead of the
word "millage".
4. A copy of the interior of the new building be furnished to all supervisors.
Mr. Hamlin stated that several industries had offered to donate the services of their public
relations men to assist in advertising the Special County Building Election.
The Committee of the Whole arose and the Board adjourned.
A tour of all county facilities followed the meeting.
