Clerk called for nominations for Temporary Chairman.
Mr. Levinson nominated William A. Ewart. Mr. Cummings seconded the nomination.
Moved by Voll supported by Dickens that nominations be closed, the rules suspended, and
the Clerk be instructed to cast the unanimous vote of the Board for Mr. Ewart.
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion carried.
Mr. Ewart declared elected Temporary Chairman and escorted to the Chair.

Clerk read resolution from Hillsdale County opposing House Hill 96 regarding city
representation on the Board of Supervisors. (Referred to Legislative Committee.)

Mr. Solley, Brandon Township Superva—r, requested that a Public Hearing be held.

Mr. Hall presented the Salaries Committee Report for 1964.
Moved by Hall supported by Kephart the report be accepted as the official recommendation
from the Salaries Committee and Board of Auditors as the salaries portion of the Tentative
1964 Budget.

Mr. Levinson presented the Tentative Budget for the year 1964.
Moved by Levinson supported by 0 7 Donoghue that consideration of the 1964 Tentative
Budget be tabled until April 15, 1963 at 10:00 A. M. and made a special order of business at
that time.

IN RE: ADVANCE AND APPROPRIATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 4-H DORMITORY
To the Oakland County Board of Supervisors
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Cooperative Extension Service Committee has pointed out the need for a
dormitory to be constructed at the 4-H Fair Grounds site for the use of 4-H boys and girls at
an estimated cost of $10,000; and
WHEREAS the Committee has pointed out the desirability of having this facility con-
structed by 4-H. Fair time or as soon thereafter as in s;ibe; and
WHEREAS $7,500.00 of this amount would be is through_ state matching funds and the
4-H Leaders Association over a two-year period and the expense to the County would be $2,500.00;
and
WHEREAS your Committee concurs in the recommendations of the Cooperative Extension
Service Conmittee as to the construction of this facility;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the sum of $2,500.00 be appropriated from the Contingent Fund for the purpose
of the construction of a 4-H dormitory to be constructed at the 4-H Fair Grounds site;
2. Further, that the sum of $7,500.00 be advanced by the County on a loan basis to be
repaid over a two year period from state monies and contributions by the 4-H Leaders Association;
3. That said money be spent under the direction of the Oakland County Board of Auditors
and that the construction of said building as to plans, location and general appearance be subject
to the approval of the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
Mr. Chairman, on behalf of the Ways and Means Committee, I move the adoption of the
foregoing resolution.
