Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (14) ABSENT: Potts. (1) DEMOCRATIC COMMISSIONER PRESENT: Covey. (1) Quorum present. Moved by Nuccio supported by Matis the minutes of the January 31, 2012 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Oakland County Republican Chairman, Jim Thienel addressed the Caucus to give an update on Oakland County Republican Party (OCRP) financials during public comment. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Undersheriff McCabe Undersheriff McCabe addressed the Caucus regarding jail over-crowding. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Women’s Commission. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding filing for office. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus to give an update on the re-districting lawsuit; he also stated that the oversight committee has been suspended until further notice. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Veterans Commission. Discussion followed. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. March 6, 2012 121 Caucus Chairperson Shelly Taub addressed the Caucus regarding Specs Howard School of Media Arts in Southfield MI and circulated a sign-in sheet. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson. Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson addressed the Caucus regarding the County’s Bond rating. Commissioner Gosselin addressed the Caucus to thank the Executive Office for their Strong Leadership. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and requested that Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson give an update on Regional Transportation. Deputy County Gerald Poisson addressed the Caucus to give an update on Regional Transportation. Discussion followed Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding Miscellaneous Resolution #12018 – entitled Board of Commissioners – Oakland County Ethics Policy and stated that Corporation Counsel has given an opinion; and this will be re-accessed. Discussion followed. Caucus Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Oakland County Parks & Recreation Executive Officer, Dan Stencil. Oakland County Parks & Recreation Executive Officer, Dan Stencil addressed the Caucus regarding Miscellaneous Resolution #06245 entitled Parks and Recreation Commission – Lease with Oak Management, to discuss the bidding process for Oak Management. Oakland County Parks & Recreation Business Development Representative, Phil Castonia addressed the Caucus regarding a Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Parks and Recreation Commission Second Amendment to Lease with E.A. Fuller Oak Management Corporation; he stated that the Resolution will divide the contract into four groups: Vending, Concessions, Catering Services and Banquet Services. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Oakland County Parks & Recreation Chairman, Jerry Fisher. Oakland County Parks & Recreation Chairman, Jerry Fisher addressed the Caucus regarding the increased efficiency of the contract. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Gordon Snavely, Eddie McDonald, Graham Beal – Director; President & CEO of the Detroit Institute of Arts (D.I.A) and Gene Gargaro who joined the Caucus via Conference call. Gordon Snavely, Eddie McDonald, Graham Beal – Director; President & CEO of the D.I.A and Gene Gargaro addressed the Caucus to give a presentation on the D.I.A and requested a proposed 122 Miscellaneous Resolution be implemented to allow a mileage be placed on the Ballot to help maintain the institution. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus and stated that implementation of the proposed Miscellaneous Resolution will take place on the next Board meeting held on March 22, 2012 and referred to a committee. Discussion followed with comment by Deputy County Executive, Gerald Poisson. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to announce the Ceremony for the Tuskegee Airmen at the March 7, 2012 Board meeting and a proclamation will also be presented. Gordon Snavely addressed the Caucus to thank the Republican Caucus for the opportunity to present the D.I.A. presentation.
