REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
April 13, 2012
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 8:40 a.m. in the Courthouse
Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Middleton, Nuccio, River, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (13)
ABSENT: Crawford, Matis, Potts. (3)
DEMOCRATIC COMMISSIONER PRESENT: McGillivray. (1)
Quorum present.
Corporation Counsel Judy Cunningham addressed the Caucus during public comment to commend the efforts put forth by Board of Commissioners Communication Liaison Julia Ruffin on Youth in Government
Day.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding appointing Commissioners Covey and Runestad as liaisons to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in support of the DHS Fusion Center of Homeland
Security of Region 2, as adopted in Miscellaneous Resolution #12038 - Sheriff’s Office and Health and Human Services - Homeland Security Division – Creation of Classification and Position of Intelligence
Analyst Funded by Homeland Security Grant.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus and stated that he will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Oakland County Art Institute Authority and
will be referring it to the General Government Committee.
Discussion followed.
Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to ask if there were any questions about the Board meeting. There were none.
Deputy County Executive Bob Daddow addressed the Caucus to report the passing of George Kuhn,
former Oakland County Drain Commissioner.
Discussion followed.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 9:55 a.m. until April 18, 2012, at 6:30 p.m.
