ADDITIONAL REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
June 5, 2012
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 6:11 p.m. in the Courthouse
Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Matis, Middleton, Potts, Runestad, Taub, Weipert. (11)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Hoffman, Nuccio, River. (3) ARRIVED LATE: Long, Scott. (2)
DEMOCRATIC COMMISSIONER PRESENT: Jackson. (1)
Quorum present.
Moved by Middleton supported by Matis the minutes of the March 6, 2012 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
No one addressed the Caucus during public comment.
Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding synthetic marijuana, also referred to as ‘K-2’ or ‘Spice’ and referenced previously adopted Miscellaneous Resolution #10178 entitled Board of
Commissioners – Resolution in Support of HB 6038 and HB 6226. She also suggested that the Caucus propose a new Miscellaneous Resolution regarding this matter to introduce at the Board meeting on
Thursday, June 7, 2012.

Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Jeremiah Mankoph from Michigan Governmental Strategy to comment.

Miscellaneous Resolution #12149 entitled Board of Commissioners Ballot Initiative for the Detroit/Windsor Bridge.

Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus to introduce the Judge Michael Warren of the Oakland
County Circuit Court.
Judge Michael Warren addressed the Caucus regarding the August election; and inquired about Endorsements from the Caucus for the Circuit Court Judges.

Annmarie Erickson – Chief Operating Officer of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

addressed the Caucus regarding the DIA.

entitled Board of Commissioners - Oakland County Art Institute Authority.

Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Intergovernmental Agreement between Oakland County and the Rochester Hills
Public Library for the Operations of the Library for the Visually and Physically Impaired; this item will be taken up in the General Government Committee Thursday morning before the Board meeting and added
to the Board agenda via the suspension list.
