Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Potts, River, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (16) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: (0) Quorum present. Moved by Middleton supported by Scott the minutes of the September 20, 2012 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Leadership Oakland. Susan Williams, Project Manager of Leadership Oakland addressed the Caucus during public comment. Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to take a point of privilege to thank Commissioner Gosselin for bringing in snacks for the Caucus meeting. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that the Public Services Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that Public Service item a.: Miscellaneous Resolution #12237 - entitled Board of Commissioner – Contract Extension with Haven, Inc. to Provide Services to Victims of Sexual Assault through the Safe Therapeutic Assault Response Team (START) 2012-2015 was amended to add an additional $5,000 and was passed in the Finance Committee. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no issues with the items on the Regular Agenda. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. October 3, 2012 641 Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Judy Cunningham, Corporation Counsel to discuss General Government item a.: Miscellaneous Resolution #12215 – entitled Board of Commissioners – Recommendation for Oakland County Discount Prescription and Health Benefit Provider. Judy Cunningham, Corporation Counsel addressed the Caucus and stated that they will be requesting an amend on General Government item a.: Miscellaneous Resolution #12215 – entitled Board of Commissioners – Recommendation for Oakland County Discount Prescription and Health Benefit Provider. Discussion followed. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that the Human Resources Committee has no issues with the items on the Regular Agenda; he also stated that all the items will be referred to the Finance Committee. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no issues with the items on the Regular Agenda. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that Public Services item d.: entitled Sheriff’s Office – Continuation of OCCMHA Agreement and Inmate Caseworker Position will be referred to the Finance Committee; and item e.: entitled Sheriff’s Office – OCCMHA Agreement and Continuation of Expanded Jail Alliance with Support for Inmates (JAWS) and Related Positions will be referred to the Human Resources Committee and the Finance Committee. He also stated that there will be a suspension list to add two additional items on the Regular agenda entitled Sheriff’s Office – Fiscal Year 2013 Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) Grant Acceptance; and Friend of the Court – FY 2013 Cooperative Reimbursement Program (CRP) Grant Acceptance and stated he will be offering an amendment to this item. Discussion followed. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus regarding the move of the Rochester Hills Public Library Operations of the Library for the Visually and Physically Impaired and stated that there was a ceremony. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and stated that there will be a Workshop on October 24, 2012 @ Waterford Oaks from 9-11 a.m. Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated he will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution under New & Miscellaneous Business entitled Board of Commissioners – Oakland County Veteran Internship Program (VIP) Proposal and will refer it to the Public Services Committee. Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated she will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution under New & Miscellaneous Business entitled Resolution in Support of Pathways to Potential (P2P) Customer Centered Service Delivery Model for the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) and will refer it to the General Government Committee. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the issue with Animal Control and stated that there will be several public comments. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the re-appointment of Eric Wilson, Oakland County Road Commission. Nancy Scarlett, Director of Human Resources addressed the Caucus regarding Natural Select Open Enrollment. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. October 3, 2012 642 Bob Daddow, Deputy County Executive addressed the Caucus regarding HB 5804: Fundamental Flaws of the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission. Discussion followed. Commissioner Bosnic addressed the Caucus regarding his Candidacy for Commissioner District #19 and to garner support. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus regarding ROC PAC: a Joint Fundraiser with Commissioner Bosnic. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus to acknowledge the Oakland County Information Technology Department for winning another reward “Champions for Change”. Phil Bertolini, Deputy County Executive addressed the Caucus and stated that it was an honor to receive another reward “Champions for Change” he also gave an update on L.
