REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
November 1, 2012
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 8:44 a.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin,
Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Potts, River, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (16) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: (0)
Quorum present.
Moved by Hoffman supported by Matis the minutes of the October 18, 2012 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that the General Government Committee has no
issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that the Human Resources Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no
issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that the Public Services Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no items to
report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that the General Government Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.

Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that the Human Resources items c. and d.: entitled Human Resources Department Fiscal Year 2013 – Fiscal Year 2015 Collective Bargaining
Agreement for Employees Represented by the Oakland County Deputy Sheriff Association (O.C.D.S.A.); and Human Resources Department – Fiscal Year 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees
represented by the Command Officers Association of Michigan (COAM) and stated that he will be referring both items to the Finance Committee.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no
items to report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that the Public Services Committee has no items to report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding public comments on the Animal Control
concerns.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the suspension list and to introduce Nancy Scarlet, Director of Human Resources.
Nancy Scarlet, Director of Human Resources addressed the Caucus regarding the Public Services item
on the suspension list entitled MR #12253 Board of Commissioners – Oakland County Veteran Internship Program (VIP) Proposal.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus regarding the Planning and Building item on the suspension
list entitled Board of Commissioner – Oakland County International Airport – 2013 Grant Program Acceptance – Install Fence (SE Area).
Discussion followed.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Re-Organization
meeting that’s scheduled for November 27, 2012.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus regarding endorsing the Judges.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Caucus Memo.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 10:19 a.m. until November 28, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.
