REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
December 13, 2012
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 8:45 a.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin,
Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Nuccio, Potts, River, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (16) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: (0)
Quorum present.
Moved by Crawford supported by Matis the minutes of the November 28, 2012 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Jim Thienel, Oakland County Republican Party Chair.
Jim Thienel, Oakland County Republican Party Chair addressed the Caucus to thank the Commissioners
for all their support during public comment.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus to congratulate Jim Thienel, Oakland County Republican Party Chair for his victory and stated that he serves as a great Chairperson.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus to thank the Commissioners for their mentorship.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus to say his final goodbye’s and stated he will do a more formal
farewell in the Board meeting.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Memo of Schedule that will take place on January 9, 2013.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and wanted to thank Harvey
Wedell, Senior Board of Commissioners Analyst for his service as a part-time employee after coming back after his retirement.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Judges Ceremony.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Animal Control issues.

Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus to acknowledge Pam Williams, Oakland County Republican Party Vice-Chair.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no issues
with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that the General Government Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no
issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that the Public Services Committee has no issues with the items on the Consent Agenda.
Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no items to
report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus and stated that the General Government Committee has no issues with the items on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that the Human Resources Committee has no
items to report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus and stated that the Planning and Building Committee has no items to report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus and stated that the Public Services Committee has no
items to report on the Regular Agenda.
Gerald Poisson, Deputy County Executive addressed the Caucus to thank the Commissioners for all their support on behalf of L. Brooks Patterson, County Executive.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated that the next Caucus
meeting will be held on Wednesday, January, 9, 2013 at 3:45p.m.
Commissioner Long addressed the Caucus to acknowledge Commissioner Nuccio last day and stated that she will be missed.

The Republican Caucus adjourned at 10:55 a.m. until January 9, 2013, at 3:45 p.m.
