REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
January 9, 2013
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 5:10 p.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin,
Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Spisz, Taub, Weipert. (14) ABSENT: None. (0)
Quorum present.
Moved by Middleton supported by Matis the minutes of the December 13, 2012 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce Andy Meisner, Oakland County Treasurer.
Andy Meisner, Oakland County Treasurer addressed the Caucus regarding the stepforwardmichigan.org
program to help Michigan Homeowners that are at high risk of default or foreclosure during public comment.
Phil Bertolini, Deputy County Executive addressed the Caucus regarding the stepforwardmichigan.org
program and stated that he would make sure that Oakland County Information Technology would place a link on the County website.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Agenda being
amended to add General Government Committee item a.: entitled Board of Commissioners – Amend MR #05040 – Publication of Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Appointment.

Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the Nomination and
Election of Temporary Chairperson.

Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated that she will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Appointment to the
Huron Clinton Metroparks Authority Board; she also stated that she will move to suspend the rules and ask for immediate consideration.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated that the Board Rules
are attached to the Board Agenda packet.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus and stated that he will be appointing former Commissioner David Potts to the Zoo Authority.

Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and read the Board of
Commissioners Memorandum.
Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding Suburban Collection Show Place.

The Republican Caucus adjourned at 7:42 p.m. until January 23, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.
