Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Spisz, Taub, Weipert. (13) ABSENT: Long. (1) Quorum present. Moved by Spisz supported by Crawford the minutes of the September 19, 2013 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Solid Waste Plan modifications. Dennis Cowan, Representative of Rizzo Environmental addressed the Caucus regarding the Solid Waste Plan Project. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding transparency policies for Animal Control. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding Miscellaneous Resolution #13229 Board of Commissioners – Opposition to Fees Approved by the Michigan Public Services Commission for Customers Who Wish to Opt-Out of the Smart Meter or Advanced Metering Infrastructure Programs. Discussion followed. Commissioner Spisz addressed the Caucus and stated that he will be introducing a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for Senate Bills 495, 496 and 497 to Create the Paul Harvey Transparency Act and Prevention of State Unfunded Mandates on Local Governmental Units. Discussion followed. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. October 2, 2013 518 Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated that Democratic Commissioner Dave Woodward will be introducing two new proposed Miscellaneous Resolutions entitled Board of Commissioners – Pilot Program for Food Truck Vendors on County Campus and; Board of Commissioners – Support for Full Fund of Common Core Standards. Discussion followed. John Axe, Oakland County Bond Counsel addressed the Caucus regarding Finance Committee items a.: entitled Resolution Approving an Amendment to the 2007 Oakland County Intermediate Retiree Medical Benefits Trust Agreement Between the County and the Trustees Described Therein, Establishing the 2007 Oakland County Intermediate Retiree Medical Benefits Trust; and b.: entitled Resolution Approving the 2013 Superseding Oakland County Retiree Medical Benefits Trust Agreement Between the County and the Trustees Described Therein, Establishing the 2013 Superseding Oakland County Retiree Medical Benefits Trust. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the new equipment in the Board of Commissioners Auditorium and stated that there will be a video shown on Suicide prevention. Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus regarding two proclamations he will be presenting to Miss Oakland County and Outstanding Teen and stated he will ask Commissioner Weipert to join him in presenting the proclamations since he served as one of the Judges for Miss Oakland County. Commissioner Matis addressed the Caucus and stated that he will be presenting a proclamation to the Honorable Judge Joan Young, Circuit Court and former Judge Edward Sosnick, Circuit Court entitled Oakland County Adult Treatment Court and Juvenile Drug Court Awareness Month. Commissioner Dwyer addressed the Caucus regarding a Proclamation he will present to Cheryl Chodun, WXYZ-TV. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding a Brewery tour held in Rochester Hills MI, on October 21, 2013.
