Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 6:16 p.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin,
Hoffman, Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Spisz, Taub, Weipert. (13) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Long. (1)
Quorum present.
Moved by Gingell supported by Weipert to amend the October 17, 2013 Republican Caucus minutes to
strike Arrived Late and stated it’s not germane.
Discussion followed.
Vote on amendment: AYES: Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Spisz,
Taub, Weipert, Bosnic. (13) NAYS: None. (0)
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the motion to amend the minutes carried.

Moved by Scott supported by Dwyer the minutes of the October 17, 2013 Republican Caucus be
amended, as follows: Please Strike:

The following people addressed the Caucus during public comment: Gerald Poisson, Deputy County Executive and Jim Nash, Water Resources Commissioner.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Crawford Vice-Chair of the General Government Committee addressed the Caucus
regarding General Government Committee item a.: Miscellaneous Resolution #13229 entitled Board of Commissioners – Opposition to Fees Approved by the Michigan Public Service Commission for
Customers Who Wish to Opt-Out of the Smart Meter or Advanced Metering Infrastructure Programs.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus and stated that the Finance Committee has no items to report on the Regular Agenda.
Commissioner Crawford Vice-Chair of General Government Committee addressed the Caucus regarding
General Government Committee item b.: Miscellaneous Resolution #13252 entitled Board of Commissioners – Amendment to the Board Rules Pertaining to the Procedure to Bring Matters before the
Board – Establishment of a Study Group.

Commissioner Crawford Vice-Chair of General Government Committee addressed the Caucus regarding General Government Committee item c.: Miscellaneous Resolution #13276 entitled Department of Health
and Human Services/Health Division – Request to Expend from the Larry Pernick Health Education Fund for Oakland County.

Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that the Human Resources Committee has a
meeting following the Caucus.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus regarding the Planning and Building Committee item b.: entitled Department of Facilities Management/Department of Corporation Counsel – First Amendment
to the Lease with Walled Lake Consolidated Schools for the Women, Infants, & Children’s Program of the Health & Human Services Department; and item c.: entitled Parks and Recreation Commission – Affidavit
of Clarification of Financial Responsibility for Davisburg Dam – Springfield Oaks County Park and stated he will refer them to the Finance Committee.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus regarding the Planning and Building Committee item
d.: Miscellaneous Resolution #13268 entitled Board of Commissioners – Pilot Program for Food Truck Vendors on County Campus.

Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus and stated she will introduce a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Development of a Central
Oakland County Events Calendar.

Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to acknowledge Commissioner Jeff Matis’ birthday.
Republican Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to acknowledge Sara, Kerry
Bentivolio’s office.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus and stated that he met with Oakland County Clerk-Register of Deeds, Lisa Brown regarding the minute’s consistency.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 8:10 p.m. until November 13, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.
