REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
November 13, 2013
Meeting called to order by Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 6:17 p.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long,
Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (13) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Spisz. (1)
Quorum present.
Moved by Gingell supported by Matis the minutes of the October 30, 2013 Caucus be approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
No one addressed the Caucus during public comment.
Chairperson Taub addressed the Board to introduce Karry Reith, Manager, Community and Home
Improvement Division.
Karry Rieth, Manager, Community and Home Improvement Division addressed the Caucus regarding the City of Pontiac.
Discussion followed.
The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Chairperson Taub addressed the Caucus regarding the 2014 Board of Commissioners meetings

PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE e. Circuit Court – 2014 Urban Drug Court Initiative (UDCI) Grant Program Acceptance

h. Public Service Announcements Raising Awareness of Video Game Ratings System at No Cost to Oakland County Report

Jim VerPloeg, Admin Director Program and Operation Analyst addressed the Caucus regarding Detroit
Institute of Art (DIA).
Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus and stated that Commissioner Woodward will be introducing a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Increase in Minimum Wage
to $10.00 per Hour for Oakland County Employees by 2016.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Jackson addressed the Caucus and stated that she will be introducing a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Oakland County Campaign against Sexual
Exploitation and Human Trafficking Community Awareness Campaign.
Discussion followed.
The Caucus adjourned at 8:06 p.m. until December 12, 2013, at 8:30 a.m.
