REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
March 6, 2014
Meeting called to order by Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub at 8:40 a.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long,
Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Taub, Weipert. (13) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Spisz. (1)
Quorum present.
Moved by Middleton supported by Gosselin the minutes of the February 6, 2014 Caucus be approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding fake emails being sent to various elected
officials.
Mike McCabe, Undersheriff and Keith Lerminaux, Corporation Counsel addressed the Caucus regarding how to handle these emails and where they are originating from.
Nancy Scarlet, Director of Human Resources and Keith Lerminaux, Corporation Counsel addressed the
Caucus regarding an EEOC Complaint filed by a former employee.
Commissioner Hatchett addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Naming March 2014 as Women’s History Month in Oakland County and
Honoring Mary Barra’s Accomplishments and stated she will be requesting suspension of the Board Rules for immediate consideration.
The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus regarding Planning and Building Committee item
e.: entitled Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner - Request for Approval to Transfer Title to Certain Easements, Rights of Way, Transmission Mains, Distribution Laterals and Appurtenances to the
Municipalities in Which They are Located and stated he will move the Resolution to the Regular Agenda and refer it to the Finance Committee.
Commissioner Runestad addressed the Caucus regarding Planning and Building Committee item
f.: entitled Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner – Appropriation of Funds for the Establishment of a Feasibility Study for the North Oakland County Water Authority.

Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Recognizing March 2014 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness
Month in Oakland County and stated she will be requesting suspension of the Board Rules for immediate consideration.
Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution
entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for Silver Key Coalition Recommendation Michigan be a “No Wait State” for Senior In-Home Services.
Discussion followed.
Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to announce that Health Screenings will be
scheduled in the auditorium on March 12, April 1, April 25 and May 5, 2014.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Gosselin addressed the Caucus to give an update on the learning session which took place Thursday night.
Robert Daddow, Deputy County Executive and Gerald Poisson, Deputy County Executive addressed the
Caucus to give an update on the City of Detroit and Detroit Water and Sewer.
Discussion followed.
The Caucus adjourned at 10:12 a.m. until March 19, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
