Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bosnic, Crawford, Dwyer, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Long, Matis, Middleton, Runestad, Scott, Spisz, Taub, Weipert. (14) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: (0) Quorum present. Moved by Spisz supported by Crawford the minutes of the April 30, 2014 Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. No one addressed the Caucus during public comment. The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding General Government Committee item b.: entitled Miscellaneous Resolution #14086 – Board of Commissioners – Support for Legislation Granting Property Tax Relief for Businesses Impacted by Severely Deteriorated Roads and stated that more clarity needed to be provided on the resolution and that she will be making an amendment. Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus regarding General Government Committee item c.: entitled Appointments to the Friend of the Court – Citizens Advisory Council and stated that she was very impressed with the candidates. Commissioner Dwyer addressed the Caucus regarding Public Services item c: entitled Miscellaneous Resolution #14105 – Sheriff’s Office – Contract for Fire Dispatch Services for the Charter Township of Washington 2014-2015 and announced that he will be making an amendment. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Tri-Party Road Improvement Program Fiscal Year 2014 Appropriation – City of Troy – Improvements to Big Beaver Road – Project No. 52201 and announced that Commissioners Bosnic and McGillivray will introduce the resolution during the board meeting. Gerald Poisson, Deputy County Executive and Robert Daddow, Deputy County Executive, addressed the Caucus to give an update on the City of Detroit’s bankruptcy proceedings and Detroit Water and Sewer. Discussion followed. Gerald Poisson, Deputy County Executive and Mark Newman, Director of Public Services addressed the Caucus to give an update on animal control procedures in Farmington Hills. 213 Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. May 15, 2014 Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to thank Tim Meyer, Chancellor of Oakland Community College for attending the Board of Commissioners meeting. Discussion followed. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to congratulate Commissioner Gosselin on his retirement from General Motors. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding emails received from the public regarding the Support Human Rights Initiative Commissioner Woodward introduced in 2009. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus to discuss HAVEN and to announce that Commissioner Zack will be accepting donations on behalf of the program. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus to announce that there will be an Oakland Community College presentation during the Board of Commissioners meeting. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Extension of Professional Services Contract for Government Relations Consulting Firm to Public Affairs Associates, Inc. and stated this item will be referred to the General Government Committee and Finance Committee. Caucus Chairperson Shelley Taub addressed the Caucus to discuss the Education and Workforce Development Committee working with Oakland ISD and high schools for support in development of crafting trade options for students.
