Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Crawford, Dwyer, Fleming, Gingell, Gosselin, Hoffman, Kochenderfer, Long, Middleton, Scott, Spisz, Taub, Weipert. (13) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Kowall. (1) Quorum present. No one addressed the Caucus during Public Comment. Moved by Fleming supported by Weipert the minutes of the December 2, 2015 Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Middleton and Director, Management and Budget, Laurie VanPelt addressed the Caucus regarding Finance Committee item e.: Department of Management and Budget – Fiscal Year 2015 Year-End Report and Budget Amendments. Discussion followed. George Miller, Director, Health and Human Services addressed the Caucus to discuss General Government Committee item e.: Department of Health and Human Services/Health Division – Request to Donate Expired N-95 Masks to World Medical Relief. Discussion followed. Undersheriff Michael McCabe addressed the Caucus regarding an incident at Common Ground that took place on December 4, 2015. Discussion followed. Gerald Poisson, Deputy County Executive addressed the Caucus regarding Data Center legislation. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Motion to Discharge MR #15164 – Board of Commissioners – Oppose Altering Term of and Moving Election Date of Oakland County Executive Office. Discussion followed. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. December 9, 2015 691 Commissioner Crawford addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed new Miscellaneous Resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for the Federal Government Surplus Military Equipment Program (1033) for Use by Law Enforcement, and stated he will be requesting Suspension of the Board Rules for Immediate Consideration under New Business. Discussion followed. Commissioner Taub addressed the Caucus to introduce two Miscellaneous Resolutions that she will propose. One along with Commissioner Jackson entitled Board of Commissioners – Creation of Oakland County Human Trafficking Task Force, the other entitled Board of Commissioners – Stepping Up: A National Initiative to Reduce the Number of People with Mental Illnesses in Jail. She also stated these resolutions will be referred to the General Government Committee. Discussion followed. Commissioner Taub addressed the Caucus regarding two proposed Miscellaneous Resolutions that Commissioner Woodward will introduce. One with Commissioner Gershenson entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for the “Take on Hate” Campaign and Commitment to the Protection of All Residents, Regardless of Race or Ethnicity. The second entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for the Acceptance and Placement of Additional Syrian, Iraqi, and Other Refugees in Michigan and in Oakland County. She also stated Commissioner Woodward will be requesting Suspension of the Board Rules for Immediate Consideration under New Business on the second resolution. Discussion followed.
