REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
July 20, 2016
Meeting called to order by Vice-Chairperson Bob Hoffman at 6:15 p.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Crawford, Dwyer, Fleming, Gosselin, Hoffman, Kochenderfer,
Middleton, Scott, Weipert. (9) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Gingell, Kowall, Long, Spisz, Taub. (5)
Quorum present.
Commissioner Gershenson addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution
entitled: Board of Commissioners – Support for Additional Funding for the Area Agency on Aging 1-B.
Commissioner Scott addressed the Caucus to introduce Tom Isaacs, candidate for County Commissioner, 5th District.
Tom Isaacs addressed the Caucus to introduce himself.
Vice-Chairperson Bob Hoffman addressed the Caucus to announce the departure of Jim VerPloeg, Board
of Commissioners Administration Director, Program and Operational Analyst and to inform the Caucus that Chris Ward, Senior Board of Commissioners Analyst will be taking his place.
Moved by Dwyer supported by Fleming the minutes of the June 16, 2016 Caucus be approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus to introduce two proposed Tri-Party Road Improvement
Program resolutions and sixteen proposed Pilot Road Improvement Program resolutions that will be introduced at the Board of Commissioners Meeting. All of these resolutions will be referred to the Finance
Committee.
Jim VerPloeg, Board of Commissioners Administration Director, Program and Operational Analyst addressed the Caucus to announce that his last day will be August 5, 2016.
Commissioner Gosselin addressed the Caucus to introduce a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution
entitled: Board of Commissioners – Support for Measures to Improve Access to Emergency Shelter and Long-Term Housing for Victims of Human Trafficking.

Vice-Chairperson Bob Hoffman addressed the Caucus on behalf of Commissioner Kowall who will be introducing a proposed Miscellaneous Resolution entitled: Charter Township of White Lake – Request for
$148,000 Loan from the Long Term Revolving Fund for the Construction of the Grass Lake Augmentation Well.
The Caucus adjourned at 8:20 p.m. until August 18, 2016, at 8:30 a.m.
