Allen opened the evening with the introduction of the Honorable Judge Edward Sosnick. Invocation given by the Honorable Judge Edward Sosnick. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was lead by Sheriff John F. Nichols. County Clerk Lynn D. Allen introduced each of the incoming Commissioners and presented them with their Certificate of Election. Each of the Commissioners introduced their family and guests present. Meeting called to order by County Clerk Lynn D. Allen at 7:00 P.M. in the Courthouse Auditorium, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. PRESENT: Amos, Crake, Devine, Douglas, Garfield, Holbert, Huntoon, Jacobs, Jensen, Johnson, Kaczmar, Kingzett, Law, McCulloch, McPherson, Moffitt, Obrecht, Palmer, Pernick, Powers, Quarles, Schmid, Taub, Wolf. (24) ABSENT: Dingeldey. (with notice) (1) Quorum present. Moved by Pernick supported by Powers the minutes of the December 8, 1994 Board meeting be approved, as printed. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion carried. Moved by Wolf supported by Pernick the Journal for the 1994 Session be approved and closed, and the 1994 Session be adjourned Sine Die. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion carried. ANNUAL SESSION The 1995 Session was called to order by County Clerk Lynn D. Allen. Moved by Wolf supported by Pernick the agenda be approved. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion carried. Moved by Wolf supported by Pernick the Board adopt the Board Rules as Temporary Rules until the Board meets to adopt the Rules for the Board. Commissioners Minutes Continued. (24) NAYS: None. (0) A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the Temporary Rules were adopted. Moved by Wolf supported by Schmid that Lawrence Pernick be nominated for Temporary Chairperson. Moved by Wolf supported by Schmid that the nominations be closed and a unanimous ballot be cast. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, Lawrence Pernick was elected as Temporary Chairperson and was escorted to the Chair. The Oath of Office was administered to the Commissioners by County Clerk Lynn D. Allen. Commissioner Wolf nominated Larry Crake for Permanent Chairperson. Commissioner Jacobs nominated Lawrence Pernick for Permanent Chairperson. Commissioner Pernick nominated Gilda Jacobs for Vice Chairperson. A sufficient having voted therefor, the nominations were declared closed. Powers to serve on the Oakland County Personnel Appeal Board for a term ending 12/31/95. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the appointments were confirmed. Clerk read a letter from Chairperson Larry Crake announcing the appointment of Commissioner Nancy Dingeldey to serve on the Oakland County Substance Abuse Advisory Council for a term ending 10/1/95. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the appointment was confirmed. January 5, 1995 4 REPORT BY: General Government Committee, Kay Schmid, Chairperson IN RE: ADOPTION OF RULES FOR THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: The General Government Committee, having reviewed the proposed rules for the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, recommends the adoption of the attached rules as the permanent Rules for the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move the acceptance of the foregoing report.
