Meeting called to order by Chairperson Bill Bullard, Jr. at 9:30 a.m. in the Courthouse Auditorium, 1200 N.
Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
PRESENT: Bullard, Coulter, Crawford, Douglas, Gregory, Hatchett, Jamian, Kowall, Long,
Melton, Middleton, Molnar, Moss, Nash, Palmer, Potter, Rogers, Scott, Suarez, Wilson,

Moved by Kowall supported by Coulter the agenda be approved as printed.

The following people addressed the Board: Bill McMaster, Taxpayers United. Copy of correspondence
on file in County Clerk’s office.
Commissioner Christine Long addressed the Board to announce an appointment to fill the vacancy of
County Commissioner District #1 for the remainder of the term ending December 31, 2006.
Moved by Wilson supported by Palmer that Bradford C. Jacobsen be appointed to County Commissioner
District #1 for the remainder of the term ending December 31, 2006.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Eric Wilson addressed the Board on the loss of William R. Patterson and stated that he
was very confident that Bradford C. Jacobsen is the best person to be appointed to replace Mr. Patterson
for the remainder of his term.

Commissioner David Coulter addressed the Board to give views on the recommendation for appointment
of Bradford C. Jacobsen.

NAYS: None. (0)
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the appointment of Bradford C. Jacobsen to County
Commissioner District #1 for the remainder of the term ending December 31, 2006 was confirmed.
Chairperson Bill Bullard, Jr. congratulated Bradford C. Jacobsen on his appointment, and requested
Mr. Jacobsen to come forward to allow Oakland County Clerk, Ruth Johnson to administer him the oath
of office and sign the oath of office book.
The Board recessed at 9:45 a.m. to allow the General Government Committee to meet.
The Board reconvened at 9:53 a.m.

CHAIRPERSON OF THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE AND THE APPOINTMENT OF THE
STANDING COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP FOR THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE AND
PERSONNEL COMMITTEE FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2006
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The General Government Committee hereby recommends the appointment of the Chairperson and
Majority Vice Chairperson to the Board of Commissioners’ General Government Committee for the
remainder of 2006 as detailed below.
Chairperson: Christine Long
Vice Chairperson: Eric S. Wilson
The General Government Committee, having reviewed the vacancies on the General Government
Committee and the Personnel Committee, hereby recommends the following appointments to the Board
of Commissioners’ General Government Committee and Personnel Committee for the remainder of 2006
as detailed below.
GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE: Long (Chair), Wilson (Vice Chair), Hatchett
(Minority Vice Chair), Crawford, Kowall, Molnar, Jacobsen, Gregory, Coulter, Melton
PERSONNEL COMMITTEE: Jamian (Chair), Middleton (Vice Chair), Coleman (Minority Vice
Chair), Moss, Rogers, Scott, Jacobsen, Suarez, Hatchett, Nash
Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move the acceptance of the foregoing
report.
