HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 2007.10.04 - 8426451 OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES October 4, 2007 Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Eileen Kowall at 8:47 a.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Crawford, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin, Jacobsen, Kowall, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Rogers, Scott. (13) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0) Quorum present. Moved by Long supported by Jacobsen the minutes of the September 20, 2007 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. There was no public comment. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Pat Coates addressed the Republican Caucus regarding Resolution #07188 – Information Technology – Request to Extend the Emergency Telephone Operations Surcharge. The resolution will be postponed to the October 18, 2007 Board of Commissioners meeting. Deputy Clerk/Register of Deeds James H. VanLeuven addressed the Republican Caucus regarding Appointments to the Oakland County Canvassing Board. He stated that the appointments must be by ballot, and the ballots will be passed out to each Commissioner during the regular Board of Commissioners meeting. He also stated that Resolution #07231 – Human Resources Department – Change to Merit Rule 10A will be laid over for 30 days, and if there are no objections it will be voted on at the November 29, 2007 Board meeting. Commissioner Jacobsen stated that Gini Britton of the Oakland County Republican Executive Committee and liaison for Congressmen Rogers office passed away October 3, 2007. Kerry Ebersole addressed the Republican Caucus regarding the County Health Plan. Michael McCabe of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department addressed the Republican Caucus.
