HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 2007.11.29 - 8432518 OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES November 29, 2007 Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Eileen Kowall at 8:41 a.m. in the Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Crawford, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin, Jacobsen, Kowall, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Rogers, Scott. (13) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0) Quorum present. Moved by Douglas supported by Jacobsen the minutes of the November 1, 2007 Republican Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. Commissioner Douglas addressed the Caucus. Former County Commissioner and current appointee for the Parks and Recreation Commission, Greg Jamian, addressed the Caucus and wished everyone a Happy Holiday. Kevin Larsen of the Oakland County Drain Commission and Scott Ottman from Information Technology presented to the Caucus the new Collaborative Asset Management System. Commissioner Bullard addressed the Caucus regarding Senator Bishop’s fund raising event on December 17, 2007. He also stated that Copper Rizzo of State Senator Bishop’s office has tickets available. The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Potts addressed the Caucus. Commissioner Gingell introduced Board of Commissioners – Support for Evaluation of Competitively Bidding Out Oakland County’s Reimbursement Division, as Well as Other County Services or Functions. Commissioner Gosselin introduced two resolutions: Board of Commissioners – Repeal of State Service Tax and Board of Commissioners – Non-Support of Income Tax Increase. Commissioner Crawford introduced Board of Commissioners – Support for Keeping Social Studies on the Michigan Merit Examination. Commissioner Kowall introduced Board of Commissioners – Support for Federal Tax Intercept Proposal for Collection of Court Ordered Fines, Fees and Victim Restitution. 519 Copper Rizzo of Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop’s office addressed the Caucus regarding State house issues. Commissioner Bullard stated two additional proclamations would be added to today’s Board agenda.
