REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
February 7, 2008
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Vice Chairperson Robert Gosselin at 8:50 a.m. in the
Courthouse Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Crawford, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin,
Jacobsen, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Rogers, Scott. (12)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Kowall. (1)
Quorum present.
Moved by Crawford supported by Jacobsen the minutes of the January 17, 2008 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
Carmen Talbot addressed the Caucus regarding the State of the County address.
Robert Daddow, Deputy County Executive, addressed the Caucus regarding the Cobo Hall expansion.
Judith Cunningham, Corporation Counsel, addressed the Caucus regarding a lawsuit that was filed.
Keith Lerminiaux, Corporation Counsel, addressed the Caucus and answered questions.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Commissioner Douglas stated they were moving Consent Agenda Planning and Building item b. to the
Regular Agenda as Planning and Building, item d.
Commissioner Jacobsen addressed the Caucus regarding the transfat program.
Commission Scott addressed the Caucus regarding a proclamation.
Laurie VanPelt, Director of Management and Budget, and Robert Daddow, Deputy County Executive,
addressed the Caucus regarding Finance Committee, item a. on the Regular Agenda and answered
questions.
Democratic Commissioner Dave Woodward introduced BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – SUPPORT
FOR “DIVIDED WE FAIL” EFFORT.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 9:15 a.m. until March 6, 2008, at 8:30 a.m.
