REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
April 10, 2008
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Eileen Kowall at 8:46 a.m. in the Courthouse
Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Crawford, Douglas, Gingell, Gosselin,
Kowall, Long, Middleton, Potter, Potts, Rogers, Scott. (12)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Jacobsen. (1)
Quorum present.
Moved by Crawford supported by Douglas the minutes of the March 20, 2008 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
Mark Frankel, Probate Court candidate, addressed the Republican Caucus.
Dennis Toffolo, Deputy County Executive, and Dan Hunter, Manager of Planning and Economic
Development, gave a presentation regarding economic development in Oakland County and answered
questions.
Republican Caucus Vice Chairperson, Robert Gosselin, assumed the Chair.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
Eileen Kowall, Republican Caucus Chairperson, reassumed the Chair.
Commissioner Bill Bullard, Jr. announced the resignation of Paul Welday, Oakland County Legislative
Lobbyist. The Republican Caucus members discussed the need for a lobbyist.
Caucus Chairperson, Eileen Kowall introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners –
Declare April Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Oakland County.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 9:26 a.m. until April 24, 2008, at 8:30 a.m.
