REPUBLICAN CAUCUS MINUTES
April 24, 2008
Meeting called to order by Republican Caucus Chairperson Eileen Kowall at 8:44 a.m. in the Courthouse
Committee Room A, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
Roll called.
REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bullard, Crawford, Douglas, Gosselin, Jacobsen,
Kowall, Long, Middleton, Scott. (9)
EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: Gingell, Potter, Potts, Rogers. (4)
Quorum present.
Moved by Scott supported by Crawford the minutes of the April 10, 2008 Republican Caucus be
approved.
A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved.
Ed Simons, President of the Bloomfield North Area Chamber of Commerce, addressed the Republican
Caucus.
Dennis Kolar, Deputy Managing Director County Highway Engineer, addressed the Republican Caucus
and answered questions.
Commissioner Bill Bullard, Jr. introduced Jean Blake, County Commissioner District 17 candidate, to the
Republican Caucus.
The members of the Republican Caucus discussed the Board Agenda.
George Miller, Oakland County Health Division Manager, addressed the Republican Caucus.
Caucus Chairperson Eileen Kowall and Commissioner Hugh D. Crawford introduced a proposed
resolution entitled Board of Commissioners – Support for House Bill 5872 – Penalties for Copper and
Scrap Metal Theft.
Commissioner Bill Bullard, Jr. introduced a proposed resolution entitled Board of Commissioners –
Support for Housing Counseling Program and Partners.
Dave Hieber, Oakland County Equalization Manager, addressed the Republican Caucus regarding the
Equalization Report.
The Republican Caucus adjourned at 9:15 a.m. until May 8, 2008, at 8:30 a.m.
