IN RE: BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – APPOINTMENTS TO THE COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH
AUTHORITY BOARD
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The General Government Committee, having considered these appointments on February 22, 2010, hereby
recommends that the following individuals be appointed to the Community Mental Health Authority Board for
three-year terms beginning April 1, 2010 and ending March 31, 2013.

Malkia Maisha Newman (Primary Consumer)
Lois Shulman (General Public)
Bettye Vonciel Arrington (Working Involvement with Mental Health Services)
Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move the acceptance of the foregoing report.

A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the report was accepted.
Chairperson Bill Bullard, Jr. asked if there were any other nominations. There were none.
Moved by Long supported by Potts the appointment of Malkia Maisha Newman (Primary Consumer), Lois
Shulman (General Public) and Bettye Vonciel Arrington (Working Involvement with Mental Health Services) to
the Community Mental Health Authority Board for three-year terms beginning April 1, 2010 and ending March
31, 2013 be confirmed.

A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the appointment of Malkia Maisha Newman (Primary Consumer),

Services) to the Community Mental Health Authority Board for three-year terms beginning April 1, 2010 and
ending March 31, 2013 were confirmed.
