Taub, Chairperson Subject: 1999 Proposed Rules Date: January 5, 1999 MEMORANDUM The General Government, having met on Tuesday, January 5, I 999, further moved to amend the 1999 Proposed Rules: Page 9, Section X.A.(3) to change the Personnel Committee membership from 8 to 7 members, Page 9, Section X.B.(3) to change the proposed Personnel Committee membership from six (6) to five (5) members. • To: General Government Committee From: Helen Hanger Subject: Proposed 1999 Board Rules Date: December 17, 1998 Attached is a copy of the proposed 1999 Rules for the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. Several additional recommended changes are being proposed by the Board Rules Review Ad Hoc Committee, which held its final meeting on Wednesday, December 16, 1998. These include: I . Minor cleanup Page 9, X.B.: reverse order of paragraphs X.(2) and (3) - to put in alphabetical order. Page 1 I Section XI.A.(h): add "excluding Emergency Management." Although this unit was transferred to Information Technology, it is proposed that this function remain with the liaison responsibilities of the Public Services Committee as previously identified. Page 12, Section XI.A.(8): strike "private, federal and state" so that the wording applies to all grants regardless of what entity or agency is involved. Realignment of Standing Committee Recponcihirrrieq fpr i;enprnI Crmiramrripint Committee and Public Services. These proposed changes begin on Page 12-15 and I 7-18 and are indicated with strikeouts for deletions and bolding for insertions. Page 24, Section XllI,l. - this language is being recommended for insertion based on a legal opinion received in January, 1998, at the request of the General Government Committee.
