PERSONNEL COMMITTEE q,„,„.41 Personnel Committee Vote: Motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote with Suarez, Rogers, Coleman and Hatchett absent Resolution #08084 April 10, 2008 Aont 10, 2008 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #08064 BY: Public Services ComMittee, Jeff Potter, Chairperson IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE-CONTRACT AMENDMENT #2 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BRANDON 2004-2008 To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS it is policy of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners to permit the Sheriffs Office to enter into contracts with Townships, Villages and Cities for the purpose of providing Sheriff patrol services: and WHEREAS for several years the County of Oakland and the Oaknd County Sheriff have contracted with the Charter Township of Brandon, to provide law enforcement services to this community; and WHEREAS the Charter Township of Brandon has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriffs Office to provide law enforcement services for the Township (MR. #03348) mid WHEREAS the current Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Brandon will expire on December 31, 2008; and WHEREAS paragraph 24 of the 2004-2008 Law Enforcement Serk.,ices Agreement with the Charter Township of Brandon allows for an amendment to this agreement. and WHEREAS the Charter Township of Brandon is requesting the addition of one (1) Deputy I (no-fill); and WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy I (no-fill) for the Charter Township of Brandon under the terms of this agreement. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves the addition of one (1) Deputy I (no-fill) in accordance with the Oakland County Sheriffs Department 2004-2008 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Brandoc. OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT 2004-2008 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BRANDON Amendment 2 Pursuant to paragraph 24 of the 2004-2008 Law Enforcement Services Agreement between the COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BRANDON. the parties hereby agree to amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedule A-1. All other contractual provisions, of the 2004-2008 Law Enforcement Services Agreement not otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A-1, remain in full force and effect, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments, set forth in this Amendment 2 to the 2004-2008 Law Enforcement Services Agreement, ("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and aaequacy of which is hereby acknowledged, tie undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this Contract. Chairperson IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE - CONTRACT AMENDMENT #2 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BRANDON 2004-2008 To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds: 1. The Charter Township of Brandon has requested an amendment to the contract with the Oakland County Sheriffs Department for law enforcement services for the balance of the contract year that ends December 31, 2008. 2. This amendment creates one (1) additional Deputy I position in the Contracted Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division, of the Sheriffs Office, effective April 26, 2008. 3. This amendment does not require the addition of a patrol vehicle, radio, or any capital acquisitions. 4. Operating revenues and expenses will be increased by $32.190 for the remaining portion of Fiscal Year 2008, and $20,912 for the first three months of Fiscal Year 2009, the contract expires on December 31, 2008. 5.
